Judge Blocks Parts Of Arizona Immigration Law

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on Wednesday blocked some of the toughest provisions in the Arizona illegal immigration law, putting on hold the state's attempt to have local police enforce federal immigration policy.

Though the rest of the law is still set to go into effect Thursday, the partial injunction on SB 1070 means Arizona, for the time being, will not be able to require police officers to determine the immigration status of anyone they stop or arrest. Also struck down was the section of law that makes it a crime not to carry immigration registration papers and the provision that makes it a crime for an illegal immigrant to seek or perform work.

Arizona's new law will still allow civil suits over sanctuary cities, and also make it a crime to pick up day laborers.

"The Court also finds that the United States is likely to suffer irreparable harm if the Court does not preliminarily enjoin enforcement of these Sections of S.B. 1070 and that the balance of equities tips in the United States’ favor considering the public interest."

"The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has stated 'that an alleged constitutional infringement will often alone constitute irreparable harm.'"

"The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has concluded that allowing a state to enforce a state law in violation of the Supremacy Clause is neither equitable nor in the public interest."

I'm actually surprised at this ruling, but obviously Obama and his minions are a very powerful bunch. I think we also now know what the final ruling will be on this law. Arizona tried to fight the POWER and protect their citizens, but they were struck down. But I do NOT think that this is a WIN for the Obama Administration. Obama has spoken, the court has spoken, but the PEOPLE of this great nation will have their voices heard in November.

Obama Missing Historic Boy Scout Jamboree For The View

President Obama will make history as the first sitting president to appear on a daytime talk show when he visits "The View" on Thursday 7/29/2010. They said the majority of the hour will be devoted to Obama's appearance, which will touch on topics including jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill and family life inside the White House. It is scheduled to tape on Wednesday 7/28/2010.

"We are so pleased and honored," Walters said.

But there is a very big event taking place right in Obama's backyard. There will be 45,000 Boy Scouts of America participating in the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree, held this week in Bowling Green, VA. And this is the Scout's 100th Anniversary. The Jamboree is starting off this week at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, where organizers had invited the president to speak. The scouts will be attending events and in the area until next Tuesday. Unfortunately the president is only sending his regards via a videotaped message. They have attributed the absence to important Democratic fundraisers.

I know that most people will chalk this up to a scheduling conflict, but I'm going to raise the bar just a little bit.

The Scouts are an organization that thrives on individual merit, preparedness, self reliance and a spirited sense of selfless patriotism. They also are predominately white middle to upper class kids. Do you see a conflict here? I don't think that Mr. Obama would be caught dead at this event, especially when he can put himself in front of the camera's with his Liberal friends at the "View".

So YES I said it, the Boy Scouts are way to white and patriotic for this President.

I stopped by the Toyota Dealership yesterday for a look at the new Tacoma.
Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new "feel" before they become extinct...
The salesman (wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options.
The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat.
Feeling like messing with his mind, I mentioned that this must be a Republican truck.
Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck. I explained that if it were a Democrat truck, the seats would blow smoke up your ass year-round.
I had to walk back to the dealership........damn guy had no sense of humor.

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.
While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The
devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so
Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she
is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so
she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush
got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: "Since Obama took over, the country has
gone to hell, so it's a local call."

Sen. Reid goes to a local GM dealer in Washington, D.C. with the intention of buying a brand new vehicle. Harry looks around and finds one he likes.
After going back and forth with the salesman, Harry settles on a price of $45,000. Harry and the salesman go back to the office to complete the paperwork. Harry works out a 4-year payment plan, and signs on the bottom line.
The salesman shakes Harry's hand and says, "Thanks Senator Reid, the car will be ready for pickup in 4 years."
Harry says, "What are you talking about? Where are the keys to my new car?" The salesman replies, "No, you don't understand Senator. You make payments for 4 years... THEN we give you the car. You know, just like your health plan".
Harry, with a choking voice, says to the salesman, "But that's not fair". And the salesman says, without any doubt or embarrassment:
"NO SHIT, Sherlock" !!!

Shirley Sherrod Forced To Resign - Full Video Of Her Speech

For my own writing most of the time I avoid the major headline stories and look for less popular interesting news. But I feel that I must give this story my attention.

Shirley Sherrod WAS the USDA director of Rural Development in Georgia. Over the past few days she has become the main news topic because biggovernment.com provided a short video of her supposedly being racially biased. That video was only 2:36 and I don't think that it actually shows the real premise of the real story. So Shirley was ASKED to resign immediately because the Obama Administration said that Glenn Beck was going to be focusing on this story.

Obama Mania Slipping - 2012 Candidates VS Obama

A Fox News poll released Thursday finds that only 43 percent of voters approve of the job Obama's doing. Two weeks ago 47 percent approved, and one year ago 54 percent of voters approved. His highest approval thus far was 65 percent in January 2009.

Public Policy Polling, which normally leans towards the Democrats pitted Barack Obama against five potential Republican challengers for the 2012 presidential campaign, and the only one Obama beat was … Jan Brewer.

With his approval numbers hitting new lows it’s no surprise that Barack Obama’s numbers in our monthly look ahead to the 2012 Presidential race are their worst ever this month. He trails Mitt Romney 46-43, Mike Huckabee 47-45, Newt Gingrich 46-45, and is even tied with Sarah Palin at 46. The only person tested he leads is Jan Brewer, who doesn’t have particularly high name recognition on the national level at this point. It’s not that any of the Republican candidates are particularly well liked. Only Huckabee has positive favorability numbers at 37/28. Romney’s at 32/33, Gingrich at 32/42, Palin at 37/52, and Brewer at 17/20. But with a majority of Americans now disapproving of Obama it’s no surprise that a large chunk of them would replace him as President if they had that choice today. There are two things driving these strong poll numbers for the Republican candidates. The first is a lead with independents in every match up. Romney leads 48-35 with them, Gingrich is up 50-39, Huckabee has a 46-40 advantage, Palin’s up 47-42, and even Brewer has a 38-37 edge.

Iowa Billboard Touts Obama As Socialist

I live in Iowa which is very politically divided, just like the entire country. Most of Iowa is rural farmland (where I live) and in this area it is almost entirely comprised of very staunch Conservatives, although some of our cities are as Liberal as San Francisco, CA. We have Tea Parties, and we have extreme Liberal protests and marches.

There is a new billboard in Mason City that is really stirring up some controversy. The North Iowa Tea Party began displaying this sign in Mason City last week.

The sign, located in the 600 block of South Federal Avenue, was ordered and paid for by the North Iowa Tea Party organization, according to the billboard company. Members of the group either declined to speak to the Mason City Globe Gazette or did not return calls on Monday. It is the second controversial sign sponsored by the North Iowa Tea Party. In November, another sign erected at the same spot followed the same socialist theme.

I don't have any problems with these billboards, except that they do extract that "IN YOUR FACE", "WOW FACTOR". The Tea Party movement is being attacked in many directions right now, so anything controversial will most definitely raise lots of eyebrows. Obviously we all know that the North Iowa Tea Party is not saying that Obama will be melting people in ovens. The connotation to Socialism is definitely something that I agree with, and anyone that is honest with themselves simply cannot argue that.

Fourth Verse Of The Star Spangled Banner

I never did get a chance to publish a blog post during the 4th of July holiday. Of all times to be a slacker, I feel like such a disappointment. But I'm trying to redeem myself, and I think that I've found the perfect topic to do just that. You may have already seen this, and even if you have, you will watch it again unless you are a Communist.

There was a Tea Party in Douglas County, Georgia on June 4th, 2010. During a question/answer portion of this Tea Party a man named Lewis, who said he’s a former Marine expressed concern that people always hear the first verse of the Star Spangled Banner, but not the rest of the song. He then proceeded to belt out the fourth verse of the Star Spangled Banner.

Damn Tea Baggers, look at how racist and out of control they are.

Here are all four verses:

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,

Patriotic Homeless Man Retrieves Flag Blown Down In Storm

This security video shows Gustus Bozarth of El Paso, Texas, retrieving a flag and flag pole blown down by a storm.

You can see that it is still raining and Gustus slowly and methodically retrieves the flag and folds it military style. He then grabs the flag pole and puts it safely in front of the business. Finally he puts the folded flag under the windshield wiper of the sole vehicle in the parking lot.

What an absolutely amazing thing to do. I see so many snotty nosed, loud mouthed, arrogant people every day, it's nice to see someone that respects our country and other people's property. This video has garnered a tremendous amount of attention and people from all over the country want to donate money to this fine citizen. The problem is that he has no identification. I hope that he is able to get some type of ID so that they can set up an escrow account for him.

"We've gotten so many calls from people all over the nation wanting to help," said Rebecca Rorozco, who works for Meti Inc., which is the business that owns the flag and flagpole.

If they are able to set up an account for him, I will post this information as soon as it becomes available.

Arizona Should Not Be Bullied By The Obama Administration

Eric Holder and the Justice Department on Tuesday filed a lawsuit challenging Arizona's immigration policy. Claiming that the "invalid" law interferes with federal immigration responsibilities and "must be struck down."

This is an issue that is really starting to piss me off. Mr. Obama and his Administration are more worried about saving face, then actually protecting our country and it's borders. Instead of building fences, or sending more National Guard troops down to our border he is throwing lawsuits around. Just like the oil spill in the gulf, he is more worried about who he can reprimand and blame, instead of actually doing SOMETHING.

There are drug lords, drug smugglers, and human smugglers, on our land, in our territory, in our freakin country, taking our land and killing Americans. What did our "Commander in Chief" do? He put up signs that said we should not enter this area of AMERICA where the bad people are.

So this is what our President is doing to protect us? He is just conceding our land to some rogue criminals, and telling people of this country to stay away, let them have what they want. We send our troops all over this world, but we can't send a crapload down to the border to scare off some low-life drug dealers.

This isn't about comprehensive immigration reform, although we do need something very aggressive to tackle immigration, this is about a direct attack on our nation. These maggots taking a part of Arizona, and trying to take parts of Texas, are not looking for work. They are not looking for a better life for their families. They are looking to make MONEY trafficking drugs and humans. If America's finest is down there by the thousands, and they blow some of these criminals assholes out of their foreheads then I think most of them will get the message and leave.

But of course our President is a power hungry coward and millions of people out there are still drinking his kool-aid. But for the people that actually care and want to know the truth I have compiled some quotes and links regarding this Arizona situation.

Here is the actual lawsuit

"S.B. 1070 is preempted by federal law and therefore violates the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution."

"In our constitutional system, the federal government has preeminent authority to regulate immigration matters. This authority derives from the United States Constitution and numerous acts of Congress. The nation’s immigration laws reflect a careful and considered balance of national law enforcement, foreign relations, and humanitarian interests."

"A state may not establish its own immigration policy or enforce state laws in a manner that interferes with the federal immigration laws."

Alright well that's pretty interesting, here is the supremacy clause from the constitution.

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any state to the Contrary notwithstanding."

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

And finally here is some information regarding the actual immigration bill in Arizona:

The word "Federal" is found 32 times in this 17 page document.

"NO OFFICIAL OR AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE MAY ADOPT A POLICY THAT LIMITS OR RESTRICTS THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS TO LESS THAN THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY FEDERAL LAW. "

"THE PERSON'S IMMIGRATION STATUS SHALL BE VERIFIED WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PURSUANT TO 8 UNITED STATES CODE SECTION 1373(c)."

"THE ALIEN SHALL BE TRANSFERRED IMMEDIATELY TO THE CUSTODY OF THE UNITED STATES IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT OR THE UNITED STATES CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION."

And here is the BIG one. Arizona even added verbiage to allow any person to challenge the fact that they may have been singled out for immigration status which does not follow the FEDERAL law.

Arizona Senate Bill 1070

I'm no Yale or Harvard educated lawyer but it seems that Arizona was simply trying to allow their local authorities to enforce a law that the Federal Government was unwilling to. Arizona has added verbiage in this bill specifically to show that it is not trumping the Federal Government's authority in the area of immigration. The Administration thinks that if this is allowed to happen that it will set a bad precedence. I think that if the Administration is successful with this lawsuit that it will set a VERY bad precedence. What will then keep the Federal Government from misinterpreting the Constitution and going after any number of state laws that simply supplement Federal laws?

Our Pets Provide Us With Joy and Sorrow

There has been a copious amount of political news that I should have been writing about over the last 30 days, but I have been pretty busy with a few other things. In case you don't already know, my wife and I rescue cats and dogs. About 6 weeks ago a liter of puppies was left by a dumpster at my wife's work. We acquired one of those puppies and his name is Zander. (pic below). About 4 weeks ago we acquired a puppy that was thrown out of a vehicle, her name is Grace. (pic below). Grace was emaciated and probably with 24hrs. of death, she required many trips to the vet, and needed to be watched closely. It turns out that she had Canine Parvo virus which is deadly to puppies. Even after bleaching everything in the house, and washing every blanket and piece of clothing, Zander the younger puppy also became very sick and was diagnosed with this virus. This virus attacks their intestines and they die within a few days. They will NOT eat or drink anything. I stayed up for 72 hrs straight to be with Zander and tried to give him droplets of water every hour. Finally, at one point, he was basically un-responsive and had to go to the vet to get an IV and stay the night. We were told he was in kidney failure and the outlook was not good. That night I told our youngest daughter (who was VERY attached to this puppy) that he probably would not live through the night. But like during many other bad times in our lives, we turned to prayer. My daughter and I prayed for hours that night and did the rosary many times, we left this situation in God's hands. And like a miracle, that very next morning Zander was eating and drinking and back to his hyper self. Grace and Zander are very happy healthy pup's now.

I have also had issues with my riding lawn mower and getting our 2 1/2 acres mowed. This time of year the yard must be mowed about twice a week and my mower was not working properly. Then finally one evening the whole bottom of the transmission just plopped right on the ground. So then I spent many evenings looking for a replacement riding lawn mower. That required driving many miles looking at used mowers, and trying to find something that I thought would last. So I did eventually get a 1978 John Deere 316 from a very nice couple in Solon, IA.

During this same period of time, I also had a 12yr. old dog that was dying from cancer. I didn't want to have to put her to sleep until I knew for sure that

she was unhappy or uncomfortable. So this also required much of time, checking on her almost every hour to make sure that she wasn't in any pain. This did come to an end one morning, and I did have to take her to the vet to get euthanized. Then I had to dig a grave and give her a proper burial. She was the fourth dog that I've buried in the last 5 years.

Some may say that we are crazy, and wonder why we do so much for our animals and other animals in need. I say that animals have even more to offer us. They will love unconditionally, and forgive immediately. They sense when we are happy, sad, or mad. They are obedient and provide continuous companionship, and entertainment.
