As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,” Obama said at the dinner. “That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan in accordance with local laws and ordinances.”
Since his Aug. 13 remarks, Obama has said his support for the right to build isn’t necessarily an endorsement. White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said Obama “is not backing off in any way” from his statement at the iftar dinner.
“It is not his role as president to pass judgment on every local project,” Burton said in an e-mailed statement. “But it is his responsibility to stand up for the constitutional principle of religious freedom and equal treatment for all Americans.”
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. certainly likes cameras and press, he speaks up and offers his opinion even when he should probably shut the hell up. But what about this topic Chuck? Nope, he's surprisingly silent.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid broke with President Obama Monday Aug. 16th over the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, saying the controversial Islamic center should be built elsewhere. Holy Cow Harry, I still think you are an idiot, but I will give credit where it is due. Thank you for having the balls to man up and speak out against Obama. I have now moved you one notch above Obama, Pelosi, and B. Frank, unfortunately, you are still below, hitting my thumb with a hammer, mosquitoes, and cleaning up dog crap.
Back to the point at hand - Examples of Obama pro Muslim:
- Obama ignored the people of Iran druing the stolen election of Ahmadinejad .
- June 9th, 2010, President Barack Obama said the US would send $400m of aid to the Palestinian territories.
- obama says Israel should stop building settlements in gaza
- Obama blamed Israel for the violence on the so-called humanitarian flotilla.
- Obama want's NASA to reach out to Muslim nations.
- Obama has called himself a Muslim.
- Obama has an "Annual" iftar dinner on Aug 13th, 2010.
Annual? I wrote annual because this is what was reported by FoxNews, Washington Post, Huff Post, etc., etc.
- I don't remember any President ever having an "iftar" dinner.
If Mr. Obama is a Muslim wouldn't he want to treat this situation very carefully? As the President of the United States wouldn't he wan't to at least stay neutral on this situation. I don't think the question is CAN this mosque be built at "Ground Zero", but SHOULD it be built at "Ground Zero".
