Monday on MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer was discussing the newly passed immigration law in Arizona. Here is a quote from her:
"Does this lead to a situation where neighbors are turning in neighbors or families turning against families?"
The network then displayed a headline on the bottom of the screen that read:
"Law Makes it a Crime to be Illegal Immigrant."
I've included that screenshot in this post so that you can see it for yourself. And just in case you don't understand where I'm going with this, please read the headline again very slowly. You mean Arizona has passed a "Law" that actually makes it a "Crime" to be an "ILLEGAL" immigrant.
Contessa Brewer also discussed this issue with Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and she stated:
"to stop people and say, I think you look like an illegal immigrant and then drag them off to jail is not the way to deal with this issue."
I'm sorry but political correctness needs to be thrown out the window right now and I must wonder... How else do you determine who is an illegal immigrant? Yes the police officers must use their intuition and try to determine who might be an illegal immigrant. Then they will ask them for proof of citizenship and if the person in question has no proof and the officer thinks they could be here illegally then YES they will be taken to jail. Last I checked there was no special glasses or wonder binoculars that could decipher if a person is here illegally. Arizona was not receiving any help from the Federal Government so they are simply enforcing laws that should already be enforced.
