Nice work, Brad. Pay really close attention to the Sec. of State. Soros is supporting some of them so they'll overlook voter fraud.

Where are all the rest of the candidates? There are six candidates for governor and Lt. governor. There are three candidates for the Senate seat. By all means though, lets try republicans again. They have done such a bang up job in the past.

I think the most important vote is the vote to retain judges. I support equal rights for gays, and will be voting to retain the judges. As far as I am concerned, they interpreted the Iowa constitution exactly right. In fact, there is very little gray area. It was a unanimous decision, and was the correct one. Judges who have to be concerned about political pressure are not going to be fair and impartial.

It's not the Judges place to make laws, regardless of your or my views on the subject they overstepped their jurisdiction and need to be removed from office.

It is the judges job to determine whether a law is constitutional or not. Article 1, sec 6 of the Iowa constitution says "All laws of a general nature shall have a uniform operation; the general assembly shall not grant to any citizen, or class of citizens, privileges or immunities, which, upon the same terms shall not equally belong to all citizens."Any citizen is pretty clear. I think they interpreted the constitution exactly right. The county that fought the case showed no civil reason for their case. The judges said they could not uphold tradition for the sake of tradition. I think the more important Iowa tradition is freedom. We have always been on the forefront of equality for ALL people. This same equal protection clause is why Iowa was among the first states to outlaw slavery. It is why we were among the first states to recognize interracial marriage. We were one of the first states to desegregate our school system. We have always been on the forefront of freedom. I think that is a tradition to be proud of.

Under FEDERAL law, ( Defense of Marriage Act ) No state (or other political subdivision within the United States) needs to treat as a marriage a same-sex relationship considered a marriage in another state; the federal government defines marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. So the Federal Government could come after Iowa, just like they went after Arizona for the immigration law. While I do somewhat agree with your point, you can't deny what FEDERAL LAW says.
